各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

新的一年(2023年)來臨了，大家都期盼着。大家的願望也一步步成真：防疫措施一再鬆綁、多個國家也陸續開關、香港與內地的關口也有限度通關，令很多家庭可以在今年的農曆新年團圓。雖然疫情仍然嚴峻，但已逐漸復常。

People have lot of expectation in 2023 like the disease prevention measures are relaxed by the government; the compulsory quarantine requirements for people in different countries are slacked; the normal travel between Hong Kong and Mainland is resumed which makes lots of family reunite in this Lunar New Year. Although the epidemic is severe, everything can be back to normal.

聖誕及新年假期後，同學們上課約三星期後又是農曆新年假期，在同學們完成考試後，學校也在上學期完結前舉行了幾項活動：「我愛祖國—香港萬人同唱國歌」、「小丑運動會」小丑繪本劇場及劍心粵劇團的青年折子戲表演！期望學生透過活動，學會不同範疇的知識。另外，我們參加了教育局舉辦之「屯門區小學資訊巡禮」。由於屯門區將有兩個新屋邨入伙，所以我們在資訊巡禮中向一些新居民介紹學校，方便轉校學生揀選學校。

After the holidays of Christmas and New Year, students had gone back to school for 3 weeks until the Lunar New Year holidays. What they needed to do is to sit for the examination. Before the end of the first term, we joined ‘I love my motherland – a thousand people sing National Anthem together’, ‘Super Clown Sports Day’ and ‘Excerpts of Cantonese Opera’. It is hoped that our students can learn different knowledge from various domains. Also, our school join the ‘Information Day of Tuen Mun Primary Schools’. There are 2 new estates in Tuen Mun and we want to provide the new citizens some information for them to transfer to a new school here.

在考試的第一天，有兩位六年級同學來找我送上一封信。內容是希望學校增設足球隊，他們十分有誠意，不單內容言之有物，字體書寫整齊。看見他們對足球的認真，我也十分感動，我們會在下學期為他們安排，同學們，你們如果對某種活動有興趣，你們可以寫信給我，投寄到校長室門外的校長郵箱， 我會勞力為大家實踐一下！

In the first day of the examination, I received a letter from two P.6 students. They want the school to set up a football team. They are sincere. I am glad to see the content is fruitful and the handwriting is neat, tidy and beautiful. I can see their seriousness and sincerity with passion on this issue. I am touched. We will try to set up in the second term. My dear students, if you have anything which arouse your interest, it is welcome to send me a letter in the principal mailbox outside my room to tell me, and I will try to make it come true.

一月十四日(星期六)是學校的開放日，主題是LOVE TO YOU，宣揚正向關愛的精神。當天可算天公造美，不單沒有下雨，還出太陽。所有不同的活動也如常進行，家長教師會的成員為大家製作了不少新年掛飾及即場書寫揮春，所籌得的款項是捐給「無國界醫生」及「綠色和平」，十分有意義。禮堂舉辦了「小小建築師」，一早就滿額了。英語室有短片欣賞及做勞作；有蓋操場有不同的攤位，這些攤位創意十足，大排「長龍」。聖誕親子填色比賽也舉行頒獎禮，幼稚園的同學及家長十分高興。頒獎後是魔術表演，大家也看得入神，歡笑聲此起彼落。當天不單是我們自己的學生出席，也邀請了多間幼稚園的學生前來參與。最開心是很多畢業生也回來探望老師。當天十分熱鬧，大家也盡興而回。

On Saturday, 14th January 2023 was the Open Day of our school. The theme is ‘Love To You’ and we wish to convey positive and caring spirt. The weather was so nice on that day. It did not rain and the sun shone. All the activities were held as normal. Member of Parents and Teacher Association helped makes lots of Chinese drop ornaments and even write Spring Festival Couplets. All the money are raised and donated to ‘Medicines Sans Frontières’ and ‘Greenpeace’. It is meaningful. In the school hall, ‘Little Architects’, it was full house while it started for the application. In the English Room, students watched short file and did some art craft. In the playground, there were different booths which were very creative. Long queue could be easily found around those booths. The prize presentation of Parental Colouring Competition was held in the playground too. Students with their parents from kindergartens were so happy and excited to get the prize and to take pictures. After the prize presentation, there was a magic show. Everyone was so concentrated with lots of laughter. On that day, students from kindergartens and our school were present and they told me that they enjoyed a lot. All the teachers and I were so glad to see lots of alumni coming back and talked to us. It was boisterous with joy on that day.

一月二十日(星期五)為中華文化日，今年再次邀請家長來協助活動及義賣。這可算是疫情後最熱鬧的校內活動。雖然仍未能安排大家吃賀年食品，但大家也可以感受到農曆新年的氣氛。我們也邀請不同的團體，設計不同的攤位及活動，讓學生從中學習。在禮堂，我們有變臉的表演，同學、家長、老師也看到目不轉睛。在這個表現，黃師父不單分享他對變臉這表演的熱愛，更娓娓道來他為追尋學習變臉的經歷，這真是活生生的正面教育。完成表演後，同學們在禮堂到不同的攤位遊玩，這些攤位都是由中文老師為學生精心設計。

The Chinese Cultural Day was held on 20th January 2023. We could invite the parents to come and help us conduct the activities and a charity bazaar. It was the most boisterous school activity during the epidemic. Although we could not arrange any Chinese traditional food tasting activities, we could feel the atmosphere of Lunar New Year. Our school invited various organizations which help us design different booths and activities. They could help student learn through participating those activities. In the school hall, ‘Face changing’ performance made all the students, parents and teachers gaze steadily which is astonishing and stunning. After the performance, Master Wong shared his passion on ‘Face changing’ with us and he told us his experiences on the pursuit of learning. It is an authentic which is a kind of positive education. After the show, students stayed in the school hall to play the booth games which were designed by our Chinese teachers thoroughly.

另外，我們將操場改裝為「校園集古村」，同學們要用「銅錢」去購買一些服務或物件，例如：去穿着中國服飾拍照留念；製作香囊 ;購買扇子後，會有人員在扇子上給畫中式花卉或提字等等。啓動「校園集古村」之前，也有師傅為我們表演中國功夫及一些超高難度表演，大家也拍案叫絕。最令大家驚喜是，我們的外籍老師(Ms. Ruth)的父母遠道由英國到來，她的父親為大家表演魔術，大家一邊聽英文，一邊看魔術，寓學習於娛樂，一舉兩得。

Besides, our playground was adopted to the ‘School-based Middle Kingdom Village’, students needed to use ‘copper coin’ to buy services or things such as taking photos with Chinese Costumes, making perfume sachet, buying paper fans and the master would draw pictures or write calligraphy on it and so forth. Before the kick-off ceremony of ‘School-based Middle Kingdom Village’, a Kungfu master performed some Chinese Kungfu and very difficult performances, everyone gives a round applause. Surprisingly, Our NET teacher Ms. Ruth parents came to Hong Kong to visit her as they had not met for 3 years owning to the pandemic. They both took a long flight from England to Hong Kong. His father performed a magic show to us. We could learn English and see magic show simultaneously. It can help you play, learn and enjoy at the same time.

今次中華文化日得以成功，多謝中文老師的悉心安排，更多謝家長義工的鼎力協助。他們希望盡快安排另一次或多次的親子活動，令大家快快回復正常生活。

Thank you so much all the Chinese teachers for arranging this Chinese Cultural Day for our students and it was successful. I also want to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to those voluntary parents to assist all the activities. We took picture together and they reflected that they want to organize more parental activities and make everyone feel happy of making everything back to normal.
